The Tidbinbilla Rangers have been busy upgrading trails and tracks and adding new signposts, which allow for easier and greater access to a number of locations in these beautiful mountains.
Today we made our way to Tidbinbilla Mountain and beyond, before turning around and heading straight back down the very steep footpad to the carpark below.
On our way back, we decided to check the trail which heads towards Mount Domain. Last time we visited here, the trail was rough, and there was a lot of bush-bashing required to make our way along the ridge line.
Although we did not walk to Mount Domain today, we walked far enough along this trail to see a well-maintained newish trail, and so we decided to add another one here. Yes, it's on the way to Mount Domain.
As always, when walking in this area, be aware that it is remote, and signal is not always good. It is advisable to make sure you have an offline list before you arrive in the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. The weather is very changeable in the mountains, and only 9 weeks ago, we were walking in snow here.
In Summer you will need to make sure you have sun-cream and plenty of water. There is a walker's log book to sign at the beginning of the walk. Also advisable to let someone know you are walking in this area.
