Geocache Description:

This was an epic event 12 years ago and it will be epic again this year. Yes it is the return of The Great MashMallow Creme Jar Geocache Container Contest! You do not have to participate in the contest to come gather with us at Lengthwise on Saturday April 11, 2026 from 5 PM to 7 PM. We will be hosting an educational workshop on how to best hide your MarshMallow Creme Jar containers. We will review the 2014 hides and see what was successful and what was not. We will discuss location tips, whether to plant non-premium or premium, and learn some HTML and photo hosting tricks. We will provide the MarshMallow Creme Jar containers complete with logs, pencils, and SWAG. You just need to bring your creative mind and input. We hope to see you there!

The Great MarshMallow Creme Jar Geocache Container Contest

Starting Saturday April 11, 2026 and finishing on Thursday December 31, 2026, the Kern County Cachers will be hosting The Great MashMallow Creme Jar Geocache Container Contest. The rules are simple:

Plant a cache utilizing a marshmallow creme jar. There are varying sizes and we leave the creativity up to you. Make it good.
Be sure to title your cache with GMMCJ in the title and put the text at the bottom of this event at the bottom of your cache listing.
Anyone in the Southern California Reviewer Area can participate. That area is defined as in California below N 36°.

And those are the rules. We might change them if we need to, but the idea is to plant new and awesome caches that generate favorite points. There will be prizes for most favorite points, highest percentage of favorite points, and more! Please let me know when your entry is published so we can add it to the 2026 GMMCJ Contest Caches Bookmark List.

You can receive free marshmallow creme jars by attending Tung8's Pi Day Event where bako1313 will be handing them out, at this event, or by contacting us. We will have a lot at these posted coordinates Monday through Thursday 4 PM to 6 PM as well. We will find a way to get you some containers to use.

We will be applying for this to be a Maker Magic Event that will earn you a souvenir! We will update the area below with the banner when it is accepted.

Here is the text you should have at the bottom of your cache page.
