Le télégraphe Chappe (ou télégraphe aérien) est un moyen de communication  visuel français par sémaphore effectif sur des distances de plusieurs centaines de kilomètres, inventé par le Français Claude Chappe et mis en place à partir de 1793. Les sémaphores sont en général placés sur des tours dites tours Chappe.
