George Washington was a Founding Father of the United States and the first president. He was the commander of the Continental Army and led the forces to victory against the British Empire, helping to make the United States independant from the British. The United States has existed for 250 years, celebrating its semiquincentennial this year (If Kablooey can make his July puzzle United States themed, we're making ours United States themed). Since Washington's presidency, the United States has grown bigger. There are now many historic and beautiful places in the US, stretching westward from those 13 colonies we started with.
