14 Jul 2026 - HotBarbecuewhite and HotBarbecuered arrive at the Canada-USA border and take their spot in the Nexus line, waiting to enter the USA, excited about their plans for the day. Seeing as how there are about three other vehicles ahead of them, HotBarbecuered (the driver), places the geomobile in Park... The vehicle just dies on the spot 
!
HotBarbecuered cranks and cranks - but the geomobile hardly even turns over.
CBP officers eventually realize there is an issue and bring out jumper cables to help restart the geomobile - no go.
Due to the searing heat that day, CBP officers allow HBBQR & W to enter the office where secondary searches are performed, and manually get the vehicle out of traffic into the search facility.
While talking to HotBarbecuered, a CBP officer looks back as HotBarbecuewhite who is in the start of an epileptic seizure ! Five officers lift HotBarbecuewhite and get her into the office to sit her down, all the while, a photo-shoot is going on by a group hoping to show what CPB officers do on a regular basis. Due to protocol in this situation, EMS is called. All involved are very cooperative and friendly as HotBarbecuewhite begins to come out of it. After some time and explaination of HotBarbecuewhite's medical condition, EMS determine HotBarbecuewhite is well enough to stay on the scene and not be transferred to hospital.
Finally able to get hold of CAA, HotBarbecuered finds out that due to rules/regulations/laws/etc, CAA is only able to tow back to Canada from certain specified location. As a result, HotBarbecuered is transferred to AAA, and the geomobile is towed just blocks away to GZ, to wait for CAA to find a tow operator who has the proper ID to cross into the United States.
Realizing where he is, and what USED to be here not very long ago, a certain Beach Boys song comes to mind, which becomes an earworm for HotBarbecuered for the remainder of the "adventure" 😜. HBBR & W are still a little bewildered as to how THIS location is the "approved" spot for CAA to tow back to Canada from 🤔?
Hours go by, and still no response from CAA. Worried that their phones might die, HBBQR & W walk to the nearby hotel where they are welcomed by friendly staff, who invite them to sit down and charge their phones in the lobby, even though they were not going to be checking in for the night.
15 Jul 2026 - Finally, after what seems like an eternity of waiting, CAA contacts HBBQR and tells him a tow is finally on its way. Another few hours, and HBBQR & W are towed to their mechanic's yard where they are picked up by family. The friendly mechanic texts HotBarbecuered when he arrives at opening time and assesses the vehicle.
What went wrong???

4 Aug 2026 - Given this great "adventure" that ended up in HBBQR & W accompishing practically nothing, HBBQR & W return to GZ today to place a 'memory' cache, appropriate for what this locatioin used to be, the confusion as to what caused the whole scenario, the earworm it created, and as a memory of just how caring everyone was during the entire ordeal. So good to know that even in today's world, the citizens of these two neighboring countries are able to be friendly, polite, and helpful to one another 😁.
