About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website
MINI SideTracked - Ropsley Heath (RHLR)

Welcome to MINI SideTracked - Ropsley Heath (RHLR).
Tucked away in the Lincolnshire countryside near Grantham is the RHLR a privately owned miniature railway situated within the grounds of Glebe Farm at Ropsley Heath.
The railway began to take shape after its owner, Robert Holland, moved to Glebe Farm in 2017 and was finally able to realise his ambition of building his own railway.
With the assistance of a team of volunteers, a 10¼-inch gauge railway was developed around the grounds. The line is approximately half a mile long and includes an impressive 107-foot tunnel, together with gradients, a turntable, engine shed and workshop facilities.
The railway operates a selection of locomotives, including steam and electrically powered traction. One of its steam locomotives, Nimrod, weighs around half a ton and is capable of hauling seven coaches carrying approximately 35–40 passengers.
Although this may be a miniature railway, it operates very much like its full-sized counterparts, with proper operating procedures, signalling and a token system helping to keep trains safely separated.
The railway is privately owned but occasionally welcomes organised groups and holds special running days and fundraising events.
