A lot of the trees in the Kelley Park disc golf course area are these beautiful black walnut trees, so when I saw this cute little burned stump, I assumed it was the remains of one of them. Regardless of what type of stump it is, it's the perfect size for a tiny cache container I've been carrying around with me for a while now.
You're looking for a large micro or extra small cache hidden a couple of steps from the trail on the creek side. You shouldn't have any trouble with the disc golfers and the location doesn't intersect with any of the trails made by the local residents.
Please stay on the trail and do not walk through the disc golf course. Kelley Park hours are 8 a.m. to half-hour after sunset. Dogs are allowed on leash. Happy hunting!
