Geocache Description:

One Day. Many Communities. A World of Difference.

A little over 2 years ago georeyna a geocacher in Houston, TX asked a simple question - What could happen if geocachers around Texas came together on one day to make their communities cleaner?  Based on that simple question, Texas Geocaching Association (TXGA) created an event named CITO Across Texas in conjunction with World Cleanup Day.

Geocachers throughout Texas held cleanup events on the third Saturday in September. Each event is locally organized, but together they became part of something much bigger.  CITO Across Texas was born!

The results have been tremendous. During 2024 and 2025:

  • More than 50 CITO events were held across Texas.
  • More than 700 volunteers participated.
  • Thousands of pounds of trash were removed from parks, trails, waterways, neighborhoods, and other public spaces.

In 2026, we want to take the next step and we are inviting the worldwide community of geocachers to help clean up our game board.

Malden Event on the Bike to the Sea bike path

CuriousKDB and MedfordPnG have teamed up once again with Bike to the Sea (B2C), the non-profit Northern Strand Trail advocacy organization.

This cleanup will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and we will meet at the B2C Bike Kitchen located at 158 Canal St. in Malden, MA. If you are driving, there is ample free on-street parking on the west side of the street. By MBTA, the Malden Center Orange Line station is ½ mile away, bring a bag with you and pick up trash along the way. And the Northern Strand extends from Lynn all the way to Everett, so getting there by bike is so easy!

Going south, you can tidy up the trail as it passes historic Bell Rock cemetery and continue on to Rivergreen Park in Everett. Going north you will have the opportunity to view a number of Malden ArtLine installations—and in either direction, grab a cache or two.

We also invite you to learn more about Bike to the Sea. They hold many other events throughout the year, including bike rides, walks, presentations and social get-togethers. You’ll even get to see their Bike Kitchen in action, which is a community DIY space where people can access tools, equipment, and knowledge to fix and maintain their own bicycles.

We hope you will join us!!

What to bring:
