The bridge forms part of the Wales Coast Path and is accessible with a walk from Margam, Maudlam or Kenfig & whichever direction you choose then I would recommend approaching along the Wales Coast Path. Expect a walk whichever side that you do choose to access the bridge from - it really is surprisingly isolated. Much of the ground en route is sandy and/or also damp at times. Cattle do roam in this area, so please take the attributes seriously as dogs & cattle are a very bad mix! I passed cattle with calves en route back from gz to my car at Maudlam after placing the cache & the herd was actually drinking at gz when I visited the cache from the Margam side a few days later.
I stumbled across this beautiful spot whilst jogging recently. Although a little isolated, it has a lovely bridge allowing you to cross from Kenfig Dunes to the much more industrial Margam Burrows. I suspect that its relative isolation makes this a rarely trodden part of the Wales Coast Path. Don't be fooled by the apparent proximity to former industrial areas. Some amazing areas in South Wales have survived at least in part due to the nearby industry. Especially if coming from Margam you have good views of some local heavy industry, one end of the steelworks, and the railway with associated knuckle yard.
The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire.
