Bags provided, please bring your own gloves

Rochester's third fall Litter Bit Better campaign is the week of October 3-11th, it's a good excuse to remind all of us to do some CITO. Plus partnering with LBB means they provide all bags, provide pick up, and disposal.

Where: McQuillian Fields park ball fields
When: Monday October 5, 2026 from 1800-1930
Who: Environmental Cachers
What: A CITO for Mother Earth
Why: To pay if forward and clean up a Rochester City Park
How: We're celebrating that Rochester is holding its second fall Litter Bit Better event!

Bring your own gloves and beverage, also consider a flashlight/headlamp. No water edge, just ball fields and parking lot:

The CITO/LBB location is the 7 ball fields of McQuillian park, plus minimal additional surrounding area.

We have 34.7 acres to clean up.

There's also two traditional geocaches in the park you may wish to hunt while we clean, Bear Essence and McQuillian Cedar.

Through LBB, we'll provide the bags (separate ones for trash and recyclables), and arrange for pick-up and disposal of all the trash that you bring back to the parking area.

The waivers LBB requires will be present on a tailgate near the CITO event location from 1800-1815; you must sign the waivers during this time.  Sunset happens at 1843, so be prepared for it getting dark. Anyone under the age of 18 needs to have an adult present to sign for them as well. At 1900 we'll regroup in the dark at the origin coordinates (parking area) to tell stories about the strangest things we found while doing CITO, brag about how much trash you managed to grab, etc. Note the coordinates of any trash that's too big or hazardous and bring those to the regroup at 1900, we can report them for the City to remove.
