Burkal kirke er fra 1025. Den er hvidkalket og blytækt, og består af romansk apsis, kor og skib med en vestforlængelse fra 1637.
Byggematerialet er overvejende munkesten.
Skibet har bjælkeloft med en bemærkelsesværdig, smuk bemaling - vistnok fra 1622.
Prædikestolen er et renaissancearbejde af Tønder-type fra ca. 1610.

ENGLISH
Burkal Church dates from 1025. It is whitewashed and has a lead roof, and consists of a Romanesque apse, choir and nave with a west extension from 1637.
The building material is predominantly monastic stone.
The nave has a beamed ceiling with a remarkable, beautiful painting - probably from 1622.
The pulpit is a Renaissance work of the Tønder type from about 1610.
