We're teaming up with a Portland Parks & Recreation event on Friday, Oct 30 at Mt Tabor Park. We'll meet in the parking lot near the parking coordinates at 9:15 - 9:25 am to sign the log book and then head over to the nearby basketball courts (posted coordinates) by 9:30 for further instructions. If the parking lot is full, you can park on Salmon Way but watch for the No Parking signs.
- Tools, gloves, and project instructions will be provided.
- Event starts at 9:30 am and ends at 11:30 am.
- Closed toed shoes are required.
- Volunteers will be raking, trimming plants, and weeding.
Volunteers will be working on uneven surfaces, which include dirt trails and grass. Sun exposure is minimal and there are no benches or tables to rest. A restroom is located next to the Visitor Center, which is about 3-to-5-minute walk from the project location.
Work looks and feels different for every body. We encourage volunteers to go at their own pace and take breaks to rest.
Please bring your own drinking water and any snacks you may need. Wear sturdy close-toed shoes and layers to dress for the weather.
Keep yourself and your community safe and healthy - please stay home if you are sick.
There are currently 19 open spots so please head to the PP&R website at: Mt Tabor Voulunteer Day and register your spot if you plan to join us. You will need to make an account and sign a waiver online for this event.
