De koppelleiding is een kunstmatige waterloop die in de tweede helft van de vorige eeuw (met name rond de jaren 50 en 60) aan de oostkant van Hengelo is gegraven. De leiding werd specifiek aangelegd als omleidingskanaal om de hevige wateroverlast in het centrum van de stad tegen te gaan.
