Geocache Description:

This cache has been re-fitted as of September 5, 2004 including a new log book. This is a fairly straight forward walk up a nice valley. The trail is obvious but the voles, moles and golphers make the meadow parts tough for bicycles. After replacing the cache, take care to re-stack the rocks so as not to crush the box!!!

Access from Moon Pass or from the Montana side over the pass above East Portal. Clear creek is accessible from the trestle of the bike trail.(As described by one finder) It is a nice view up the valley from the trestle. Cross Loop Creek and pick up the trail under the trestle and follow your GPS. Cache is a tupperware ~ 3x8x12 box that contains the following: a North American Wildlife X-word puzzle (for those with persistence and a sense of humor that is slightly akimbo!), $2.00 Canadian coin, Riverfront Park Carousel coin, a fossil of an alder leaf and one of metasequoia needles (both from Republic, WA formation), a few assorted post cards, a mini-cribbage board, a coin pouch, chemical hand warmer, an antennae ball, a vial of Mt. St. Helens ash and an info packet and tool for using UTM coordinates. Wear an orange vest if it's hunting season! Visit the huge cedar stumps futher up the trail if you have time
