Geocache Description:

Sv:Ett trevligt stopp under resan på 45:an. Eng: A nice stop on your way on Rv45.

English description down below.

Sv:

Eng:
The Cache is located near a lay by Rv45. The lay is a good place for a stop, there is a bading place nearby (N58 22.106 E12 15.910). Norway and Denmark was invaded by Germany the 9th of April 1940. This led to a late awakening in Sweden. Almost every man in age was called into the army. Places thought to pose any kind of interest for the Germans (and the Soviets) were fortificated. There have been at least four bunkers in this area. One was torn down when the present Rv45 was built, the others are still standing. On this bunker, one can read inscriptions made by the builders. One can read out the construction date: 11th July 1940, three months and two days after the invasion of Norway and Denmark. The bunkers were built as a part of the fortification line "Uddevalla-Vänersborg". Its purpose was to protect Gothenburg from a German invasion. (Thanks to Stridsvagn-S for the infromation!)
The grounds around the bunkers were taken over by the goverment agency Fortificationsverket (The agency for fortifications). After fifty years, the original owners got the land back. In early 2006, the bunkers were sealed with concrete.
