I have no doubt that the events of 9/11 will remain a watershed event for all of us, akin to the bombing of Pearl Harbor or the shooting of JFK. It's one of those "I know where I was when I heard the news" type events. For those of us in the metro area, I'm sure we all know someone who was directly affected, if we weren't affected ourselves directly. My aunt worked in Tower Two and should've been at work, but wasn't because her daughter had a fever & had taken her to the pediatrician.
The town of Maplewood has established a memorial for two riders who never returned home from work via train that day. It's a small plaque & a tree planted in their memory. I hear Paramus is planning a much larger memorial featuring several steel I-beams taken from the wreckage, which will be dedicated on Memorial Day. Another memorial is planned for Overpeck Park. Directly to the left of the memorial are some parking spaces. At the very end of those parking spaces is a sign. Tell me what it says as proof you were there. (Note there is a sign referencing cable lines, that's not it)
