Geocache Description:

Locate monuments dedicated to fallen police officers or firefighters. PLEASE read all rules.

Everyday all over the world police officers and firefighters put their lives on the line to make our world a safer place. Never has this been more apparent than since Sept 11th. Many communities, large and small have memorials dedicated to those brave individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Here in Saint John we have a monument dedicated to fallen firefighters. It reads:
"They Answered Their Last Alarm"
Erected by the Saint John Firefighters Association local union number 771 I.A.F.F. and the City of Saint John to commemorate the bicentenial of the Saint John Department 1786-1986.
Dedicated to the memory of those firefighters who answered their last alarm while serving in the line of duty, may their sacrifice be perpetuated in everlasting memory by those for whom they serve.
Nine names follow from 1874 to 1983. The second to last name is my uncle, Oct 25, 1975. I am a retired police officer.

To claim this cache find a STATUE or MONUMENT containing multiple names of officers or firefighters or one to which names will be added. Monuments to individuals, museums or indoor walls of plaques are not what I am looking for and ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. REPEAT, MEMORIALS TO INDIVDUALS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!
