Roof of the World Cache Traditional Cache

On a clear day you can see Mt. Everest. When we visited, there was an enjoyable walk between base camp and Romphu monastery.

Note that local laws fluctuate and permits may currently be needed to visit the original cache site. Please do not attempt illegal access.

An alternate box for dropping trackables and visitors without climbing permits is placed at the reference point.

The cache is a lock-n-lock container hidden under a boulder on a small hill near the road. A pile of rocks shown in the photo marked the spot next to the hide. Our original measured coordinates were N28 9.387 E86 50.891. I've updated the coordinates above to those posted by Chris Kletterlemmi, the FTF after 2.5 years! I've learned that Kletterlemmi died on July 16, 2005 in a climbing accident on the mountain Dent D'Herens (4171m) in Italy, 4 days before he reached his 32-nd birthday.
