Geocache Description:

Some or all of The Crawford Clan will be at the co-ordinates for the event from about 11am - 2pm. Please feel free to bring a packed lunch and join us on site, where there is some seating. We will have a camp fire and a large bag of marshmallows to share and I will also be planning some child friendly activities, such as bug hunting and pond dipping. I will also have a supply of bin bags so you can take a bag with you for your walk around the woodland.

Hinksey Heights Nature Trail CITO Event

This is my first event, so what better place than the lovely woodland where I work. Planned for the CITO weekend, you should get a snazzy souvenir for your profile, while having a great walk through the woods and also enjoying the fabulous views of the 'dreaming spires'. This event will mainly be for families, but children of all ages are welcome to join the fun! Unless the weather has seriously improved (bearing in mind I am writing this at the end of the wettest January on record) I would definitely suggest wellies or walking boots plus old clothes. (Children should wear wellies so they can enjoy paddling in the stream).

Please use the parking listed as an additional waypoint instead of the golfers car park, and then walk between the buildings to the waypoint for the start of the trail, where you can find all the information needed for the multi. I am also planning another series of caches through the woods, which will (if I get it right) be published on the day of the event.

I teach BTEC Countryside and Environment at the Oxford Academy in Littlemore and the students (14-18 year olds) have built all the structures you see in the woodland, including almost a kilometre of boardwalk, bird hides, shelters, bridges, benches and fencing
