Geocache Description:

The Long Path Cache & Creature Series at Tallman Mountain

Extending 347 miles from Fort Lee Historical Park in New Jersey to NY Route 146 in Altamont, near Albany, the Long Path is a thread connecting many of New York's parks, preserves, and state forest lands.
Locally, the Long Path (aqua blaze) begins in Fort Lee at the historical park, on the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge. For the first twelve miles to the New York State line, it follows along the Palisades through lands of the Palisades Interstate Park. There are many spectacular views of the Hudson River and New York City along the way.
After crossing into New York, the LP continues to follow the Palisades Escarpment to Tallman Mountain State Park in Piermont. From here on north, there is some road walking through the towns of Piermont and Upper Nyack where the LP turns away from the Hudson River, and goes over Clausland Mountain. It continues north along the River on Hook Mountain in Upper Nyack and there are extensive views of the lower Hudson River valley along the way, with the most dramatic views on Hook Mountain and High Tor.

*****************************************
This is a hiking trail, and as such requires some scrambling, rock tripping, stream crossing and stone stair climbing. There are ticks, poison ivy, and sometimes mosquitoes in the wet areas. please take precautions. Most of the terrain is 2-2.5, but some sections of the trail are 3.
*******************************************
this is 1 of 2 caches along a side trail, but it is along an old paved path**** DO NOT BUSHWACK! *******************************************
All containers are micro sized unless otherwise noted. Tweezers would be helpful in removing and re-inserting logs. All are camouflaged to stay safe from muggle kidnapping. PLEASE replace them with care, and hide them better than you found them. Some of the caches have a guardian, please greet them and handle them carefully.
