The geocache is in a relatively remote area of the rest area so muggles shouldn't be much of a problem. It is only accessible from I-75 SB Bay City Rest Area 605 and not from North Michigan Road. I have placed some swag mostly stuff for the younger generation of cachers.
The container was a plastic geocache.com ammo can, but it went missing, and was replaced with a 6"x8" transparent lock n lock. That got squashed, and permanently buried by a fallen tree. So, I relocated the coordinates to where I replaced the buried cache with an ammo can. It is large enough for TB's, swag and has a separately labeled baggies for them inside. I think rest areas are especially a natural geocaching place for TB's. There is also a labeled baggie for the log book and pen although pens sometimes seem to walk away these days so you might want to be carrying one just in case. LOL
This rest area is a pretty one with some picnic tables, grills and benches. There are several vending machines in a sheltered outdoor area near the parking area. The American Legion has a plaque near the restroom facilities and the Master Gardner Michigan State University Extension has a Volunteer Project going on. There are lots of colorful flowers and trees with blossoms or colored leaves depending on the time of the year you visit.
As always, to log this as a "Found it!" you need to find it and sign the log. Happy Geocaching to you!
PS - For the FTF I have taped a $10 IHOP gift card and a FTF pin to the inside top of the geocache. PSS - Congrats to Toddnvng and BriceFOTNS for FTF, Jumpinn for STF, and Grammyjinnx for TTF!
