Geocache Description:

The general theme for this gentle series of loosely connected caches is the sea, or rather the lack of it. There are many things around us that suggest that they should be in a more brine-laden setting than they actually are.

The Royal Yacht Britannia is one of the world's most famous ships. Launched at John Brown's Shipyard in Clydebank in 1953, the Royal Yacht proudly served Queen and country for forty-four years. During that time Britannia carried The Queen and the Royal Family on 968 official voyages, from the remotest regions of the South Seas to the deepest divides of Antarctica. Britannia is now permanently moored in Edinburgh's historic port of Leith and visitors can step on board the ship that was once home to the world's most famous family.

This cache has been made into an offset due to the proximity of another very local cache. Count the number of shutters on the longest side of the pub (A) and the number of letters for each word on the sign that points to a local place of worship which is attached to the building (B & C)

Slip anchor and proceed to “Cuckoo Lane” where parking is available for long enough to grab the cache. For those walking the coordinates below will show you it is less than 800m to the cache site. The cache is a 35mm film canister attached by cord. It contains a log but no means to sign it, please bring your own.

N51º 45. (A/2)(A)(C+2) W001º 13.(C-2)(B-4)(C-4)
