🌿  HEDGE LAYING AT HUCCLECOTE MEADOWS SSSI  🌿

Parking: There is some on-street parking opposite Hucclecote Meadows SSSI on Laxton Road (or in many of the other side streets nearby).

Where: We will meet at 09:30 by the main entrance to the Reserve (see waypoint) or after that find us working in the Meadows, along the hedge line near the main coordinates..

What: Join us as we continue our hedgerow restoration project at this site. Today we will be laying a section of hedgerow to allow the hedge to thicken and become a better habitat for wildlife. To do this we wil be using Hazel stakes and binders harvested during the recent Coppicing CITO at nearby Green Lane.

How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools. Please bring work gloves if possible, and if you wish to bring your own tools (secateurs, shears) please do so. Don't worry if you don't have tools as the Ranger will have a supply.

Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.

You may wish to bring a drink/snack for breaktime. Homemade cake will be provided 🙂
