Geocache Description:

Cache is located on the Marsh Sanctuary Property. Parking is located along Sarles Street (this is the closest parking to the cache)in Mt. Kisco or along Rte. 172. The grounds are open to the public from dawn till dusk, however, please be respectful of the caretakers' houses. Dogs are welcomed but must remain leashed.

The Marsh Sanctuary derives its name from the Marsh Family who designated the property a nature preserve as a memorial of their daughter Cornelia VanRensselaer Marsh. The property encompasses 134 diverse acres including mixed woodlands, a natural marsh, wildflower fields and a greek-style outdoor amphitheatre that was used extensively throughout the turn of the century.

The cache you are hunting will bring you to the best view in the sanctuary, possibly the best view in Mt. Kisco! The trails will take you there if you stick with it. The cache is a mid-sized Lock n Lock container and contains among other things a postcard detailing the amphitheatre from years ago.

There is now a website for the sanctuary where you can access a trail map and lots of pictures: (visit link)

Also on the property is another cache: OAK2305 (GCZMQM) however, this is accessed via a different trail.
