Summer's End at Worlds End Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

avalance: We would like to thank everyone for coming and making the event a good time. Thanks for the extra grills, all the delicious food, and all the extra help. Also, thanks to everyone who posted pictures. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and hosting this event. Maybe we can all get together and do it again next year. So, until then, keep on caching. One more thing, there is still one coin left in the event inventory, if you have it, please log it. Once again, thanks to everyone.

Geocache Description:

Cachers, come and help me say goodbye to summer and celebrate the start of autumn with a picnic at Worlds End State Park. We will meet at the posted coordinates at noon for a picnic lunch on the 23rd of September. The coordinates are for the Cliff Pavilion. I have not reserved the pavilion as there is a $68 reservation fee. I will show up at 8:00 am the morning of the event to stake a claim. Hopefully, no one will be there. If it is taken, I will leave directions to another pavilion. Or, if we have enough interest, I will reserve the pavilion, and we can pass a hat to foot the bill.

I will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, plates, silverware, cups, and condiments. I am asking that cachers please bring a dish or a dessert to pass. Also, cachers should provide their own drinks. I will have extra water should anyone need it. Please post the number that will be attending from your party so I know how many supplies to buy.

After lunch and socializing we can head out for a hike or caching. There are four caches in the park and many more within a few miles of the park. I plan on camping at the park Friday and Saturday night. All cachers are welcome to camp out. I will post my campsite # as soon as I get it. If you are planning on camping, I recommend making reservations as soon as possible to ensure you will have a campsite. I am also planning a drive up to High Knob or Upper Alpine View to watch the sunset on Saturday.

Don't forget to bring TBs and Geocoins to trade!
