Geocache Description:

Cache is located just off the trail in Blue Stone Forest, off Route 28, West of Kingston. Bring a pen.

A few facts about the Spinosaurus. The Spinosaurus is the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs. Estimated to be 41-59 ft in length and 7.7-23 short tons in weight. Evidence suggests that it lived on land and in the sea.
The scull was long and narrow like that of the modern crocodilians.
This imposing dinosaurs most unusual feature was its large sail. When ever it would arch it's back, the sail, made of lengthy spines covered with skin would rise into the air. The sail alone was the height of a human basketball star. There has been a lot of debate as to its function but most suspect the sail helped regulate body temp and used to woo the opposite sex, or to scare off competing males.
Now you want to know why it's named this. You will see!!
