This cache has been archived.

offline.cacher: The general rule reviewers use to archive a cache is that the cache owner has been notified (through a log entry) by the reviewer and that no response has been forthcoming. This is the case with this cache. As a result it has been archived.
If the owner would like to discuss this issue, please contact me through my geocaching.com profile. Include the GC code for the cache.

Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden in an urban setting that celebrates a different Geo. C.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

George Carlin was a funny man that broke the mold for stand up comics. His observations about life, the human condition, and American society ranged from silly to caustic as his words formed a giant mirror that helped us all see ourselves a little clearer.

George Carlin was also the first host of Saturday Night Live when it started in 1975. In that show, he did a bit about "now":

Oh.. there's a moment.. coming. There's a moment coming, it's.. it's not here yet. It's on the way.. It's still in the future. Here.. here it is! [ pause ] Oh.. it's gone, man. There's no present, man. Everything is the near future and the recent past. No wonder we can't get anything together, we've got no time, huh?

On that same show he also talked about pairs of words that made odd bedfellows:

"The term Jumbo Shrimp has always amazed me. What is a Jumbo Shrimp? I mean, it's like Military Intelligence - the words don't go together, man."

This cache, Giant Nano, is a tribute to George Carlin and his appreciation of life's oxymorons. To get the cache location, subtract George Carlin's age at his death from the posted coordinates for the decimal part of the latitude (for example, subtract 050 if he were 50 years old when he died). For the longitude, subtract the day of the month when he died from the decimal part of the longitude (for example, if he died on Jaunary 1st, you would subtract 001 from the decimal part, January 31st and you would subtract 031).

Nearby parking is available.

If the spirit moves you, post a comment about George Carlin or one of his routines in your log.
