Geocache Description:

The third of a series of caches planned to be hidden at or near the historic rural schoolhouses of Routt County - beginning in West Routt!

A larger pill bottle with the log and some small tradables.   I’m also releasing a brand-new trackable Travel Bug here “The Educator” -- Travel well!  Let loose at 7201’ above sea level.

Dunckley School #2 --  The foundation of this school still exists (Aug 2016), but a fence line runs through it.  Please respect the private land and stay on the outside of the fence.

According to the book “Windows to Yesterday” (Leslie, 1998), “The second school, a white frame structure was built near the Marion Yoast place in 1913.”  Mr. Yoast donated the land.   This school was larger and could be divided into two rooms with the use of a moveable partition.  Two teachers were hired for many terms.   When a new building was built and the location moved in 1941, this building was moved to the original George Dunckley homestead and used as a barn.  In August 2016, this building was still standing and being used as a barn - although it has been built on to.

This cache MAY be accessible in the winter - but would depend on how deep the snow is.
