In the summer of '72, I fell off this wall.
I had just gotten out of the army, after serving at height of the Vietnam War and I was alive. I spent most of that summer partying with my friends on that wall, with the George Washington Bridge as a backdrop, the Hudson River below. We would toss the beer cans over the side, and every so often after the pile had reached a critical mass we would have a proto-CITO, and clean up the area. In August of that eventful summer, I had the dubious honor of being at the center of the most memorable event; I fell off the wall onto the grass beside the highway. It's a long story, but suffice it to say that I attribute my survival to being VERY relaxed compliments of Anheuser-Busch, rather than any jump school training which I received from Uncle Sam. That was then, this is now. Providence spared me so that I could accomplish some good in the world, and a little bit of that good comes in the way of Geocaching.
I do anticipate that I will receive thanks from some for bringing them to this magnificent place. Day or night, and in any season, this is a great vista. Bring your camera. Terrain was rated at 2.5, because if you have to take the A train to 181st Street, you are in for one of the longest down hill and uphill walks in the city. For the FTF: A 1957 George Wsahington quarter Pure silver! Seemed appropriate for this cache. BTW, though 4quA5 is only .3 miles away as the crow flies, it pays to remember that you're not a crow.
