BriGuyNY: Regretfully archiving this. The tree is being torn down, and the fencing has been removed. The lot is under renovation for a new construction project. The legacy of this old tree, and the stories of which it partook, are now a distant memory.
This was technically my first cache hide over 10 years ago. Sad to see it go after all that time. The original location was inside a tree hole, but when ‘no trespassing’ signage appeared (after the bank went out of business), I moved it to the perimeter fence. Thanks to a curious muggle, I learned that the container was recovered during construction.
There is no point in me holding this real estate any longer. It provided me with some great moments during my youth, and likely the same to countless others who sat under its shade during a hot summer day, or simply drove by while admiring its beauty any time of year.
The Giving Tree has given so much, and now it will be put to rest. Thanks to all who visited this magnificent place throughout the life cycle of this hide.
