Geocache Description:

This two stage cache is along The Jones Trail, part of The Brewster Farm property (also known as The Hickories Farm). The trail runs on private farm property that has been conserved from development by agreement with the Town of Ridgefield, so please stay on the trail! Brewster Farm, a small family-owned farm, is the last working farm in Ridgefield. It has been producing food for Ridgefielders for over 200 years. All farm fields have been converted from conventional to organic farming.

The cache is a 50 cal ammo box. It should be accessible year round, but follow the recommendations below during the spring, wet periods.

There are two parking options. From the north, parking is at Banks Hill Road, just off Lounsbury Road. (N 41 17.313, W073 28.055) To access the trail from here, look for the trail sign on the south side of Lounsbury Road. From the south, parking is at the end of Lounsbury Lane. (N 41 17.255, W073 27.651) Please do not block the set of mailboxes, bench or driveway. To access the trail from here, look for the trail sign on the west side of Lounsbury Lane about 100 feet south of where you parked. The Lounsbury LANE access is recommended during the wet season, or if you plan to also seek “Good Things Come in Small Parcels 2” (GC14VWW).

The trek between Stage 1 and the Final will take you back out to Lounsbury Lane. You will see a wide path to the north (at the end of Lounsbury Lane near the parking). Follow this path uphill about 30 yards and look to the right for the trail sign and red blazes. This trail takes you to the final. After finding the cache, head back the same way you came in. (If you parked on Lounsbury Road, you can turn right, or north, when you get back to the wide path. This unblazed path is a public access route through the farm to Lounsbury Road.)

Please stay on the red-blazed trail (no bushwhacking) to get to both stages, both are located close to the trail.

Initial contents of this cache include: a 32-ounce Nalgene water bottle for the First to Find, a 16-ounce Nalgene water bottle for the Second to Find, a 3-pack of fishing floats, and the following Coleman camping supplies: a 50-foot package of braided nylon cord, a nylon cooking spoon, a ‘cool zephyr’ mini fan, and much more! (Remember, trade even or trade up!)

Please hide the stages exactly as found.
