Geocache Description:

This cache brings you to the former site of the Triumph motorcycle factory.

The answer to the puzzle can be found at the given coordinates.

To find the cache you will need to walk down a seldom used footpath and over a stile/gate. From here the footpath officially goes across the field but it is usually planted over with crops so walkers (what few use this route) use the field boundary to the east of the path. This is where the cache is located.

During the World War II Blitz on Coventry the earlier Triumph factory in Priory Street was completely destroyed.
Production of military machines for the War Ministry had been in full swing and motorcycles for the war effort were desperately required.
Immediate plans to rebuild were put in hand and a 'Green Belt' site outside the City was chosen. By June 19xx a brand new factory, replenished with the machinery and tools recovered and reconditioned from the ruins had been installed and production re-commenced in full swing at this Meriden site.
After the war, Triumph wins in competition were phenomenal, World Speed records established.
This was an exciting time with the success of riders and owners world-wide followed closely by the whole factory.

From 1970 with increasing group commercial pressures that the 'Bonneville' should end and eventually in 19xx following a period as a Co-operative the factory was closed. In 19xx the factory and car park sites became a housing estate.
Meriden Parish Council was given Planning Permission in April 2004 to erect a memorial on the grass verge near the original entrance to the Meriden Triumph Motorcycle Factory, which was based on this site from 19AB to 19CD. Where great models of motorbikes were produced: -Tiger, Trophy, Thunderbird, TRW, Terrier, Bonneville, Daytona and Trident.

The model aluminium rider on a 'Bonneville' motorcycle was sculpted and finished by Frances Firth. The setting of the model into the granite, inscription, positioning and completion of the memorial was by J E Hackett & Son.
The owners of the memorial can be contacted on 01676 EFGHIJ
In October 2005 the memorial was unveiled by Mr John R. Nelson an MD of the Meriden Co-operative factory.

To find the co-ordinates of the final cache add (A-D)HJ to the latitude and subtract HJ(A-D) from the longitude.
