This cache is between the road and the beautiful brook at the 'Amawalk Special Trout Fishing Area' on Wood Street in Somers, NY.
Wood street is adjacent to the Lasdon Arboretum, which is also beautiful and well worth visiting while in the area.
There is a wooden sign with the title above, at the entrance area to the trout fishing spot and a parking space big enough for one or two cars.
Look for that sign.
***PLEASE NOTE: Cache has just been replaced in approximately the same space. Geocache coin for FTF. Thank you for your patience!***
I am an avid bike rider and Wood Street is one of my favorite streets in Somers. It runs along the west side of the Lasdon Arboretum and has a beautiful, babbling brook running along the other side. It is a most beautiful and peaceful spot. You can bring your fishing rod or just stop and watch, and listen to the brook.
A trout jumped happily into the air when I was finding a place to hide the cache and since I love Kurt Vonnegut and was thinking of Kilgore Trout, I have named
this cache in his honor!
The cache is a micro capsule hidden inside another container.
Please bring your pen or pencil since there is no room in the cache for one and please close the capsule tightly when returning to the container so the log will stay dry!
The area is very shady with trees so the coordinates may be jumpy.
As always in wooded areas, please watch out for the occasional poison ivy plant which might be lurking.
There is a brand new, trackable 'Travel GPS' geo coin/charm in the cache for the FTF!!!
I hope you enjoy the brook as much as I do
