This cache is located in beautiful Hoeft State Park on the shore of Lake Huron. The park is located approximately five miles north of Rogers City on US-23. The most convenient parking is at the pavilion lot N 45 27.932 W 083 52.890. Pick up a trail map at the gate house, particularly if you are going to do multiple caches in the park or need to use the hints. This small hanging cache is located between sign posts 6 and 5 on the aforementioned map, on a short spur that leads to the lake.
This cache is one of several currently within the boundaries of Hoeft State Park. This series is placed with the cooperation of Hoeft State Park. Please cache in a responsible manner so that we may be allowed to keep caches in the park. The cache itself is in a small plastic container with a snap-on lid, decorated with the traditional camo-paint and a MIGO cache sticker.
All caches in this series are located within a few feet of marked trails. Only minimal bushwacking is required. Because of this all caches are in/under/behind cover. Please rehide them as you found them. The trails are all foot trails, no bicycles allowed. Bikes may be parked in the rack at the pavilion.
Hoeft State Park is one of the most outstanding parks in the Midwest. It features beautiful campsites, excellent picnic facilities, a sandy beach and a remarkable CCC pavilion. Visit the park website at the address at the top of this listing.
