In a forested park in Hastings-on-Hudson. Minimal muggle activity, but close to roads and a school.
The second in a series of caches placed near benchmarks in Westchester County, New York.
This cache commemorates benchmark KU3665, which was at the top of a wooden water tank that used to stand near this location. The benchmark was first logged in 1930.
Take a moment to look around the area. Do you see evidence of the water tank?
The cache is a small black cannister with a screw top. It is large enough for small items and travel bugs, plus the log book.
There are trails through the park, starting in the school parking lot and the adjacent road. Some come close to the cache, but you will have to go off of them to find it. In winter you can approach from any direction. In summer you will probably have the best luck from the trail to the north of the cache coordinates. You can park on the street. Note that the park is closed from dusk to dawn.
