Today's installment in the "Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder" series centers around The Brady Bunch. The iconic television series aired from September 26, 1969, to March 8, 1974, and became a television staple. Even after it was cancelled, absence made the heart grow fonder for the show, leading to movie reimaginings and many sequels, the latest of which is 2019's "A Very Brady Renovation."
The show's opening and closing image (displayed below) of a 3x3 tic-tac-toe-like grid, with each box displaying one of the nine main characters, is one of the most memorable images ever to be seen on a television series, before or since. And, of course, there were some very memorable episodes, too. Who can forget the episode when Marcia got hit in the nose with a football and used the infamous cancel-a-date phrase, "Something suddenly came up"? Or how about the episode when the six kids were going to record a song but adolescent Peter's voice began to crack uncontrollably, leading them to incorporate his cracking voice into the song, "When It's Time To Change"? Or, of course, there was also the episode when professional architect Mike worried about a newspaper horoscope that predicted a strange woman would enter his life, only to discover that the woman was a fussy perfume heiress who made impossible demands on him with regard to designing her perfume factory.
