Geocache Description:

In memory of Bud "50Sumtin" Gawlik
1953-2008

Bud was a force of nature in the local Geocaching Community. His trademark mustache, solid hiking pole and welcoming grin were common sights on trails throughout the region.

He was an advocate for Geocaching to the community.

But most of all, he was a friend to everyone he met along the trail.

We miss you Bud!

This cache was placed during the memorial at "Bud's Bay" in Henry Cowell State Park, October 4, 2008.

Bud's Bay refers to the large tree in the group picnic area adjacent to the cache, a favorite spot of Bud's and the site of his memorial service. It can also refer to either the Monterey or SF Bays since he left an indelible mark on both communities.
