Thomasville History Series - Thomasville Rose Garden

Thomasville, Georgia's Official Rose City, has a long rosarian history and nowhere is this more evident than at the Thomasville Rose Garden. The City of Thomasville maintains a stunning variety of over 1500 rose bushes that burst into bloom each spring just in time for the Annual Rose Show and Festival in April! The garden is planted to include four themed beds: Heroes, Holidays, Love & Cherish and Famous People. In addition to the themed beds, the garden includes two assorted beds and two memorial beds. Visitors to the garden will find charming gazebos to relax and take in the dazzling sight and sweet aroma of Thomasville's favorite flower. In addition to the Thomasville Rose Garden, more than 85 beds of roses are managed by the City of Thomasville throughout Georgia's Rose City. Adjacent to the Rose Garden is Cherokee Lake Park, a beautiful recreation area with a playground and walking trail that encircles the lake.
Please Park in the designated parking, to the left after entering the garden, instead of parking by the grass next to the cache. The walk from the parking to the cache location is minimal and provides an excellent opportunity to view the roses.
