Geocache Description:

It's not my Fault, its a geologic thing....... hiking shoes recommended, park at 40*51.725/073*52.822 and plan to spend the day. Admission fee and parking fee but worth it. Free on Wednesday and Saturday morning, Closed Mondays.

This is a standard cache in a chinese soup container.

Contents when established:

Two coins from elsewhere 10x/20x hand magnifier Roll of 35mm film Cute old blue-glass bottle found here Moderately old postcard 4 AA batteries

The trip is a treat though the cache is the prize, you will only succeed if extraordinarily wise. The coordinates are close but the tree cover is trouble, the cache is well hidden in geologic rubble.

West of the river is the largest stand of remnant forest in NYC. Walk softly, be nice to the flora and fauna, and since your GPS will drive you nuts under the canopy cover anyway, put it away for a while and just enjoy the rugged natural beauty.

South of the Cache by 1/4 mile or so is a mill built in 1840 as part of the industrial empire of the Lorillard family. Restrooms are inside and a soda and water machine at the north end outside of the building.

Enjoy
