Another set of caches along the South County Trail. Trying to continue on with H2"O"s great work on the North County Trail. A short walk on the paved trail from the parking location. Bring your own pen.
The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long trail stretching from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx to Elmsford in Westchester, NY. Construction started in the 1990s and was completed in 2011. Most sections of the trailway are paved. This was once the part of the New York Central Railroad system.
Poison Ivy is very common along this trail, but I did my best to avoid it.
The cache is a hidden bison tube. You will not need to leave the path. This trail is incredibly well maintained and pretty clean. However, there is occassional signs of trash on the trail. Do not contribute to the trash, so please carry out what you carry in.
Parking is available at the posted coordinates.
