Interstate 684, the primary limited-access highway through
eastern Westchester County is also uncommonly known as the Eastern
Corridor Expressway, but is known officially by its number, not by
its name.
The first nine-mile segment of highway from the Cross
Westchester Expressway (I-287) and the Hutchinson River Parkway to
Armonk opened on October 29, 1968.
According to the NYSDOT, I-684 carries approximately 70,000
vehicles per day.
The "Entering Greenwich, Connecticut" sign allows a right-of-way
to the state of Connecticut but is enforced by NY State Troopers
due to a contract between NY and CT.
I travel this highway every weekday to work. This multi-part
cache is for those who also commute down 684, with an twist for the
final part for non-commuters. This is a log only cache, please
bring a pen/pencil with you to the final stage.
