Geocache Description:


Wandering the Woodward Heights Corridor (WWHC) is the fourth HNY road series for Team TaCat.  Others include Campbell Road Romp, John R Jumble, and the Hilton Hop.
 
 
Woodward Heights is a three mile East-West stretch of road running through Ferndale and Hazel Park. It dead-ends at Woodward Avenue (to the West) and spans to Dequindre Road (where it turns into Stephens in Warren).
 
Historical Significance (from West to East)

  1. The west end connects to Woodward Avenue (M-1) and the Woodward Dream Cruise - founded in 1995 and hosts 1.5M classic car lovers every August.
  2. Site of several aspiring business including a hipster brewery, butcher/cheese shop, permanent BBQ truck and the Michigan Actors Studio.
  3. Home of WOMC and WYCD radio stations
  4. Location of the Bob Welch Athletic Field - named in honor of the Hazel Park High School graduate and Cy Young award-winning pitcher.
  5. Until recently, the southern border of the Hazel Park Raceway, Michigan’s only thoroughbred racetrack shuttered after 70 years of operation.
These caches were placed for the Happy New Years 2019 event.
All caches are within 1 block of Woodward Heights.
This is a highly-populated area so stealth is a must!
