Geocache Description:

The Saleens can be found on the eastern side of Tramore Bay, County Waterford.

It consists of a mixture of sand, pebbles and mud that skirt the inner bay.

The Saleens is a popular fishing spot with a fast flowing tidal channel running parallel to it which connects the inner bay (or backstrand) to the sea.

The Sandhills at dusk

Looking west across the channel you will see the Tramore Sandhills which are large dunes, some reaching to a height of 30 metres. They mark one end of Tramore Beach which stretches for 5 kms westward to the town. It should be easy to spot the spire of the church which sits above it.

Access:
There is good parking not far from the cache site - coordinates are provided in Additional Waypoints.

The cache is a small plastic canister. BYOP. Please replace securely in order to protect from the elements.
