Geocache Description:

History:  In the  Middle Ages the Ioanian Islads were occupied by Venecians, the Goverment was in Kephalonia until 1797. 

Napoloen braught the Islands 1797 unter French control. Two bastions were built, the one in LOUTSA and a second one on the opposite near the road from Vathy to the North, to control the harbor.


October 1809 British troops conquered the seven Islands. 1.June 1864 the Ionian Islands become part of Greece.

Follow the way to LOUTSA Beach along   the Bay of Vathy behind the Marina until its end.  The beginning of the small footpath is on  the right side of a gate which leads to a house.  Climb up  nearly 100 m and you will  see a surprise. The cache is  n o t hidden in the wall!
