'Deep Purple in Rock' was the record of 1970. I remember a night we spent in the underground rehearsal room of an acquaintance's amateur band in the old town of Wetzlar. On the 10 record changer only this record was spinning. We had blocked the changer mechanism, so the turntable would keep dropping the next disc that wasn't there, causing the tonearm to incessantly touch down at 'Speed King' and lift off after 'Child in Time', then start all over again. The amplifier on highest level. Where does some hearing loss come from in old age?
