Geocache Description:

I've placed this cache near a little village called Cserénfa, in Somogy county (south-Hungary). The name of this place is "Fosztogatás", that means "looting, pillaging", but unfortunately I don't know, why is this place called so thus.

Why is the cache here? Because here you can see a beautiful large ravine, with tall walls of yellow soil (loess). See the photos below. If you go here with little children, be very careful, the ravine is not far from the cache, and it's deep and dangerous! But if you want to find the cache, you needn't go to dangerous places.

There are more possible ways to go there:

1. From Cserénfa on a tourist path (recommended for everyone): The starting point is in the village, at the coordinates N 46° 18.357' E 17° 52.865'. Here you can park your car down, but if you arrive with bus from Kaposvár, here is the bus stop too. You must follow the green tourist sign, and after about 2100 metres, you will reach Fosztogatás. On the top of the hill, a fence crosses your path, but you can walk round.

2. A bit longer way, recommended for bicycle-riders: At the coordinates N 46° 19.934' E 17° 53.069' a narrow road starts between villages Sántos and Cserénfa. It is ideal for those, who come by bicycle. After 2300 metres you must turn left, and go up the hill on the road. You will shortly arrive at the coords N 46° 18.595' E 17° 51.463' (total distance from starting point: 5000 metres). There you have to turn left and follow the green tourist sign.

3. A much longer way, from Kaposvár, on a tourist path: The biggest city of Somogy county is Kaposvár. If you start from here, you must go 8-10 kilometres to the Fosztogatás. The yellow sign starts from the railway station to east. Go along the Baross Gábor street and the Béla Király street. (If you came with car, you can park down at N 46° 20.863' E 17° 49.064'). From here, the sign goes up the Ivánfa-hill. There is a monument chapel on the top, you will see it. Follow the sign, until you reach N 46° 18.324' E 17° 50.047'. There turn to east and follow the green sign. On this sign, you can reach Fosztogatás.

Have a pleasant stay here!
