Geocache Description:

It is located near the track and just off the Audubon Norwood property where potential remains of the dam mill that predates the USA. To get there park at Pine Pit parking area and enter on the road past the Conservation sign.

The cache is located to the north of the track at the foot of the elevated area which used to be a granite quarry railroad bed. Norwood dam (located farther to the north) is an ancient dam which was built and operated in the 1700's. It is part of the Norwood family's parcel which eventually was given to the Mass Audubon society who now owns the property. There was actually 3 dams near the cache site and clearly in those days a mill was a critical part of the community of the old settlers of Pigeon Cove.

The cache can is a red cookie can with trolls on it. It has a logbook, description and the usual assortment of goodies.
