Geocache Description:

This cache is placed specially for Team Marzipan (MarzipanCurtis) , great cachers from North Wales (if you are ever in North Wales, try some of their hides, they have some great ones!). They were recently out hashing (running following a particular route) in Liverpool City Centre, and wondered if I knew where this sculpture was located. What better way to help them, than by placing a cache near it so they can follow their GPS!

The derelict multi-storey building across the road from the station has become a major work of art. An 8m (26ft) diameter egg-shape cut from the front of the former Yates's Wine Lodge has been made to oscillate on an axis. The piece - titled "Turning the Place Over" - has been created by sculptor Richard Wilson for Liverpool's Capital of Culture Year. It will remain in place until at least spring 2008 when the building is demolished.

To find this cache you will need stealth, even super stealth. If I could add 10 stealth attributes I would, but unfortunately I’m limited to just the one. There are cars coming down the road, cars turning into/out of the NCP car park, muggles walking by, as well as entering/exiting Moorfields underground railway station. Then there are offices nearby, including the station office with the panoramic window looking down at you! Use every technique you know, the mobile phone trick, the tying the shoelace trick, the checking your bag/briefcase trick, the getting the camera out to take pictures trick. Maybe an early morning or evening visit will be easier, but I’m sure you’ll still need stealth!

From the right direction you can see the cache before retrieving it. The terrain is fine for buggies (more stealth opportunities) and wheelchairs, but cachers in the latter would probably need assistance retrieving and replacing the cache.

Good Luck
