This section of the trail runs along the Provin Mountain Ridge, past the former facility of TV station WWLP to the Springfield Underground Reservoir, and then down to the Westfield River in Robinson State Forest Please take note of No Trespassing signs at the beginning of the trail and stay out of the quarry and continue on the trail to the left.
A short walk past the cache goes to the top of the quarry, DON'T FALL OFF, it will ruin you day. WATCH THE LITTLE ONES!! About 20,000 years ago there was over a mile of ice here. The rocks carried by the glacial rounded off the nearby rocks and plowed the grooves you see here in a north/south direction. A small camo covered lockand lock.
