You can find Hugary’s biggest mammoth trees (Sequoiadendron giganteum) in Iharosberény arboretum of a mansion park. You can visit it free at daylight times. The cache is located on a white cedar tree (thuja occidentalis) in the park.
I am afraid, the biggest tree is dead (since Y2014). But you can find the second one.
Hungary’s biggest Giant Sequoia
The arboretum is around Inkey-mansion it is the primary school of Iharosberény village now.
You know the mammoth tree is not an endemic one in Europe; it is originated from Nort-America. Subsequently, these trees are not too old ones today, but their age is about 150 years only.
The circumference of the bigger one is 712 cms at chest-high, the second tree has a little bit smaller one.
Hungary's biggest Himalaya cedar (Cedrus deodara) with 537 cm trunk circumference is also here.
You can find other giants, for example Hungary’s second tulip tree with 552 cm circumference (Yellow poplar; Liriodendron tulipifera) etc.
You can find the mini logbook in a micro-cache (PET-preform).
